Easiest Houseplants To Keep Alive

First off i’d like to say that I actually have all these plants in my home. I’ve killed many plants in my day so these are the ones i’ve had the best luck with keeping alive from personal experience.

Pothos

Pothos are one of my absolute favorites and an absolute breeze to take care off. I once forgot about a pothos for months, I swore it was gonna die. I nursed it back to health and it looks better than ever. These guys are very forgiving. If you are thinking about starting to keep house plants and need somewhere to start, this is the absolute best plant to start with. These are not expensive and you can find them in pretty much any nursery or even your local supermarket.

Snake Plant

The Snake Plant is one of the best plants to help purify the air in your home, It is actually recommenced to keep these in your bedroom so you can breathe pure air while you sleep and get a better rest. These guys are super easy to take care of and they don’t even need much light or water to thrive. Snake plants are just such a stunning plant to look at. My snake plant has been with me for 3 years now and its one of my favorite things I have in my home.

Monstera

I had heard various things about monsteras and how they aren’t the easiest to take care. I bought this plant as little sprout with 2 leaves, now this thing is huge. I’ve only had it for about a year and it has grown so much. I have really have had no problem taking care of this plant, I will say it does like a spot that has a ton of light. I truly think monsteras are some of the most fun plants to watch grow, When a new leaf starts to sprout and unfurl it is such a delight!

money tree

I actually expected this one to be more of a challenge but I have 2 of them and its been a breeze, i’ve pretty much watered them every few weeks and thats about it. Money trees are said to bring good luck and prosperity to the owner and are often given as housewarming gifts.

Succulents & Cactuses

Succulents & Cactuses! these bad boys have been a trend for quite some time now. They are great! They barely need anything to survive. Just don’t overwater them, and you’ll be fine. I have absolutely drowned a few succulents in my life but I learned my lesson. I think the most fun thing about these is there are so many different sizes shapes and varieties! They can be put almost anywhere in your home or office because they don’t’ require much light. They are so easy to find at any supermarket and they often come in some really fun pots.

Philodendron

Similar to the pothos this thing is crazy easy to take care of. Philodendron also come in tons and tons of varieties. My dream plant is actually the pink princess philodendron, I haven’t seen one at a nursery yet but if I do that bad boy is coming home with me! The one pictured is actually heart-leaf varietal. It has a beautiful pink glow around the edge of the leaves and it is such a showstopper when the morning light hits it.

ZZ Plant

ZZ Plant, also known as the Zanzibar Gem. I had seen these beautiful plants on Pinterst for years, but had never seen one at the store until just recently. So obviously I had to get one. I’ve had this plant for about 6 months now and i’ve barely touched the thing and it’s just taking off. I’m actually gonna have to repot it already. It’s so pretty and it seems super hardy I haven’t even seen a brown spot on any of the leaves at all.

Ivy

Ivy is another option of super easy plants to take care of. It’s very hardy and super forgiving. They grow very fast and and have such nice shape and color to them. When they get big they have such a dramatic drape to them. Mine is actually a cutting from an English Ivy plant I found outside. It’s already sprouting a few new leaves! I’m so excited to raise this plant and watch it grow.

Happy Planting everyone! I think the most important thing to remember when keeping plants is to have fun and learn from your mistakes. If something isn’t going right move it, fertilize it or even talk to it! Plants have been known to befit from some positive words. I think plants are just so beneficial to your health. Especially when you live somewhere thats cold and gloomy for half the year like me, they bring so much color and joy to my life. Get yourself your favorite plant and don’t be afraid, not all plants are easy to kill.
