As a huge fan of cherry blossoms & Japanese gardens, I discovered there was beautiful Japanese garden outside of the Buffalo History Museum in Delaware Park. We planned a day to go check it out in late April as the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

We drove a few hours in from Ohio so we were a bit hungry, we headed to coffee shop in downtown Buffalo called Public Espresso. On the way in we admired this gorgeous mural from the parking lot. Once we got to the coffee shop we discovered that it was located in the historic Hotel Lafayette building. We enjoyed our coffee & delicious breakfast sandwiches and then explored a bit of this stunning historic hotel. the hotel was built in 1904 and was designed by a woman who is widely considered to be the first American female professional architect, Louise Blanchard Bethune.

After that we headed to Delaware park the see the cherry blossoms and Japanese gardens! The city of Buffalo joined The Sister City International Initiative in 1962 with Kanazawa, Japan to create this beautiful Japanese garden. Every year the city of Buffalo hosts a Cherry Blossom Festival to celebrate Japanese culture & the blossoming cherry trees!

We were greeted with cold rain showers once we arrived to the garden, but that didn’t stop us! We had an amazing time enjoying the beautiful Japanese garden and cherry blossoms . It was incredibly difficult to capture just how magical it was in the rain but, I think we got a few good photos. Luckily we remembered to bring our umbrellas! Buffalo, New York has some amazing places and beautiful historic things to see. I will absolutely be back to check out some more cool stuff!
