How to Spend A Spooky Afternoon in Cleveland

Back in September on a trip to Cleveland we found a flyer for Lakewood’s Favorite Haunts, so we decided to go out and have a spooky time!

First stop of the day was Brewella’s Coffee Crepes & Collectables. Brewella’s does a yearly halloween menu and they make sure their decorations are extra spooky for halloween.

We ordered the Ooky Spooky Mocha, The Jack-O-Latte and the Wicked Apple Crepes. I’ve been to this cafe many times and I would have to say the Jack-O-Latte has to be one of my favorite fall lattes in the whole city. Although Brewella’s goes all out for halloween they have all sorts of fun seasonal items throughout the year and they also are part shop as they sell vintage items that are used as decor and they have a small section of fun items made by local Cleveland artistisans. I really liked the cute little Ghost and Tarot card magnets they had for sale.

We still had some time on our meter so we decided to walk around lakewood a little bit. We checked out the recently opened Gingham Market, it had super cute corner deli vibes and had all sorts of fun sauces, spices & kitchen supplies as well as prepared pastas and sandwiches.

Next we checked out the Blossom Flower Bar where you can create your own flower Bouquet, and it had a a fun public transit mural on the side of the building.

After our meter ran out we headed across Lakewood to our next official stop on the local haunts tour. Cleveland Curiosities! An oddities and antiques shop.

Cleveland Curiosities is filled floor to ceiling with priceless taxidermy, strange art, creepy baby dolls, skulls, bones, and any weird and bizarre thing you can think of. I’ve been to this store many times and I can’t believe my eyes at the kinds of wild things they find for this store, it’s beyond impressive. Visiting Cleveland Curiosities makes for a spooky time no matter what time of year.

After that we headed to Oktober’s Occult shop. They have all your Metaphysical needs from crystals & candles to botanicals & herbs. They also have an event space that hosts Tarot Readings, Reiki, Palm Readings & Spirit Medium Readings.

After that we headed to Coven, a metaphysical shop for the modern witch, with a peaceful and grounding intent. The vibes were absolutely immaculate in here. We felt relaxed and grounded the moment we walked in the door. I could see Stevie Nicks hanging out in a place like this.

Some of the places on the list were not open on Thursdays so we couldn’t go to them all. The employees at Oktober’s told us about a new place that wasn’t on the local haunts list yet, called Spellbound. This shop had more classic halloween vibes. Witches, pumpkins, ghosts and black cats galore. This shop is perfect for anyone who waits all year for target to put out the halloween decorations. Now you can have halloween fun all year round!

That was it for our day of Halloween fun! Lakewood, Ohio sure knows how to keep Cleveland Creepy. Next time you are feeling spooky put on your best witchy attire and check out all of these places!
